The May Center School provides day educational services for children and adolescents. Educational programming is based upon the principles of ABA and includes individually-designed instruction, the use of positive reinforcement, teaching in small steps, assessing the function of problem behaviors, and the regular review of data on student performance. Typical goals include communication, social interactions, basic learning skills, independence, and academics. Speech, occupational, and physical therapy are available to students. Vocational and employment training are provided based on individual needs. Ongoing family support and training are also available. The school has a new facility with 7 large classrooms, an adaptive gymnasium, cafeteria, media room/library, kitchen, an indoor gross motor room, and a large outdoor play area.
