Granite Academy is a fully integrated, academic program. Every student has an individualized team who identifies needs and modifies schedules, supports, environments accordingly. We work collaboratively with outside support systems and creatively to design the best learning conditions for each student. We are trauma-informed, social and racial justice oriented, strengths-based, and focused on how to amplify strengths to build a well-rounded academic and creative life. Instruction is differentiated to accommodate a wide range of learning styles. A school-wide focus on developing effective executive functioning skills creates space for high academic expectations, guided note-taking strategies, and varied study skills. Individual counseling employs multiple theoretical perspectives and adapts to student-specific needs. Student therapeutic groups include: therapeutic riding, on-campus animal care, SAGA (Sexuality & Gender Alliance), life skills, creative arts, social skills, Mathletes, and Student Government. https://youtu.be/BHaH9yxzpaM
