Founded in 1817, ASD is the first permanent school for the deaf in the US, a nationally renowned leader in providing comprehensive educational programs for deaf/hard of hearing children, with Core, PACES and Autism programs. Today we partner with educators around the globe with the first accessible online education platform designed specifically for deaf & hard of hearing students worldwide—the Online Academy (OA). We offer a flexible, student-centered approach to education with programs tailored to meet diverse academic, social, and developmental needs. The OA enhances students’ existing educational placements with flexible & rigorous academic support--advanced coursework, help achieving IEP goals, or opportunities to connect with peers and role models. We offer 1:1 tutoring & specialized support services; our team includes certified educators/therapists/counselors. The OA offers a variety of customizable enrichment programs & clubs as social opportunities & engaging with peers are so important. We also offer American Sign Language courses to meet a foreign language requirement.
