The Wolf School opened its doors in 1999 with one purpose, to provide a thoughtfully crafted approach to educating K-8 special education students from both Rhode Island and Massachusetts. Our students are Complex Learners, meaning they often have more than one diagnosis and often struggle in a traditional school setting despite great potential. Through Wolf’s Immersion Model©, a skillfully designed educational approach that places an occupational therapist (OT) and speech and language pathologist (SLP) in the classroom to work alongside the special education teacher, students are seen as individuals with unique goals, strengths, and needs. Through individualized instruction in small groups with hands-on lessons and frequent movement breaks, students can learn how they learn by uncovering sensory supports that work best for them along with individual strategies for learning and social/emotional regulation. With an innovative teaching model, low student-to-teacher ratio, small class size, and a team of dedicated, talented staff, Wolf is designed to help Complex Learners thrive.
