Speech-Language Pathologist Overview

Join our dedicated team as a Speech-Language Pathologist at Melmark New England, where you will be responsible for identifying, diagnosing, and providing therapy to individuals with communication disorders. You will manage treatment through direct therapeutic services, track information, and offer consultative services as needed. This role is ideal for a skilled therapist who can work with children, adolescents, and adults with autism spectrum disorders, acquired brain injuries, neurological diseases, and comorbid mental health disorders. You will implement highly technical clinical and teaching programs, requiring constant alertness, attentiveness, and readiness to respond to students’ needs.

 

Speech-Language Pathologist Schedule and Salary Information

Monday to Friday 7:30am – 4:00pm
$90,000-$99,000 based on experience
 

Speech-Language Pathologist Requirements

Minimum of a Master’s Degree as a Speech-Language Therapist from an Educational Services Board approved university program
Experience with augmentative communication and dysphagia
CCC-SLP certification from the ASHA and certification as a Speech-Language Pathologist with Massachusetts 
Experience and/or training in augmentative communication, manual communication, and clinical or practicum background with Developmentally Delayed, Emotionally/Behaviorally Disturbed, Cognitively Challenged, Autism, Pervasive Development Disorder, and Brain Injured individuals
 

Speech-Language Pathologist Responsibilities

Provide direct clinical speech-language pathology services to Melmark New England individuals
Manage treatment through direct therapeutic services, tracking information, and offering consultative services as needed
Accurately implement Behavior Support Plans for each student as designed
Collect data accurately and demonstrate good problem-solving skills while working with students
Implement IEP objectives as written and designed, ensuring maximum independence growth
Develop baseline data sheets in conjunction with the Curriculum Coordinator and deliver them to the Educational Coordinator timely
Conduct thorough assessments/screenings upon student admission and complete discharge summaries as needed
