Learning Prep School in Newton, MA is seeking a High School Special Education History Teacher to join our faculty to start as soon as possible.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a collaborative team of highly qualified special education professionals! Our high school history department covers a range of engaging topics, including U.S. and World History, while also emphasizing critical thinking, research skills, and connections to students’ real-world experiences. Learning Prep faculty use a wide array of language-based practices and universal learning supports to ensure that students can access the curriculum and become active, engaged learners. The ideal candidate for this position will hold an educator’s license in Moderate Disabilities 5–12 and/or History 8–12. We are also open to considering candidates with relevant experience who are still on their path to licensure.

Our students have complex learning needs and we are committed to providing them with the education they deserve! LPS is a school for kids with complex profiles whose primary area of need is a language-based learning disability. While we are not a therapeutic setting or a program for students with significant behavioral support needs, we do offer speech-language pathology, occupational therapy, and counseling as part of our service delivery model.
