Walker Residential Treatment Program supports children with high-risk behaviors and their families build social, emotional, and behavioral skills so they may achieve and maintain a permanent family connection. The Walker RTP is a nationally accredited, fully licensed, Chapter 766-approved program for children ages 5 to13 who can be cared for in a staff-secure group setting. All children in the Walker RTP attend the Walker School.
Walker partners with families to ensure that the family voice is incorporated into the planning, development, implementation, and evaluation of all program services. This is accomplished through transparent, respectful interactions which integrate family preference, culture, strengths and needs and which are rooted in a framework of shared responsibility and decision making. Through partnership with families, Walker strives to ensure positive educational, behavioral, and social outcomes for every child and family served and to continuously improve our services.
