Boston Higashi School supports students with Autism Spectrum Disorder through Daily Life Therapy, a philosophy developed by Dr. Kiyo Kitahara of Tokyo, Japan. BHS offers day and residential programming with structured group education focusing on academics, creative arts, vocational education, and communication. The innovative physical education curriculum promotes behavioral regulation and reduces anxiety, while music and art education fosters emotional expression and social connection. Clinical services, including SLP, OT, and PT's, use a consultative collaborative model to support students’ goals in their natural classroom environment, improving skill generalization. BHS also offers a comprehensive team that includes nurses, a family NP, psychiatric mental health NP, school psychologist, and case managers. Through its heart-to-heart education model, BHS empowers students to lead purposeful, fulfilling lives based on community, connection, and well-being at every age.
