Dearborn Academy is a leading state-approved therapeutic day school for students of all genders in Grades 3-12 with language-based learning and/or emotional challenges. We understand our students' academic and emotional needs, and prioritize students regaining their health in order to thrive.
We provide a rigorous academic program and comprehensive clinical services. Clinicians spend time in classrooms to help students apply skills learned in individual counseling sessions to real-life, in-the-moment challenges. We use the Wilson Reading program and teach executive functioning skills using the SMARTS curriculum.
Dearborn Academy students have a diversity of opportunities including honors-option classes, woodworking, jewelry, metalworking, art, theater, and music classes. Extracurriculars include student council, GSA, basketball, rowing and more! College-career preparation is comprehensive and includes opportunities for dual enrollment classes. 11th/12th graders have individual sessions with our certified guidance counselor. We offer a six-week extended school year program.
