Highpoint is a trauma informed care residential treatment setting for adolescent males who present with a multitude of high-risk behaviors and mental health diagnoses. We provide specialized treatment for high-risk behaviors: physical aggression, self-injury/suicidal ideation, substance use and fire setting. Highpoint also provides specialized treatment for males who demonstrate problematic sexual behaviors and have engaged in sexually abusive or intrusive behaviors towards others. Most of our students are dually diagnosed which includes psychiatric disorders, learning disabilities, developmental delays, and Autism Spectrum Disorders.
Highpoint is also designed to provide individualized programming to meet the needs of each student. Many of our Highpoint students have trauma histories involving past abuse, neglect, loss and bullying. While at Highpoint, students are engaged in trauma resolution through intensive therapeutic services as well as by utilizing milieu interventions.
