Brookside Intensive Treatment Unit (BS ITU) is an acute-care residential treatment program specializing in gender responsive, trauma informed care for adolescent girls with extreme psychiatric, emotional/behavioral disorders, learning and developmental disabilities. BS ITU provides specialized treatment for high-risk behaviors including physical aggression, self-injury/suicidal ideation, school-based problems and fire setting. Sexual decision making treatment is provided for youth at risk for victimization, risk or history of human trafficking, as well as for youth with problem sexual behaviors. Many of our students present with multiple high-risk behaviors and dual diagnoses; BS ITU is designed to provide programming that is individualized to meet the needs of each student. Students receive clinical, educational, medical and recreational services on site. Specialized programming focusing on the unique needs of adolescent girls is also offered through residential and clinical groups.
