Many students who come to Pathways Academy share a common experience of significant anxiety around school in general and/or specific school expectations and demands. Many have had negative experiences in school settings. Pathways students benefit from a much more gentle, flexible, and collaborative approach to education. Pathways Academy views student behavior as meaningful communication and provides a supportive and individualized environment in which kids can be themselves while learning new skills and strategies. Sensory integration and social pragmatics support are embedded into everything we do! With a small class size of four students and a truly therapeutic milieu, Pathways educators are able to work collaboratively with students to individualize learning experiences and set students up for success!
