Italian Home for Children
The Director of Education will have responsibility for the overall quality and operations of Italian Home for Children’s Pallotta Educational Center, a K-8 therapeutic day school for children with special education needs who are enrolled as day or residential education students. This position oversees 30-45 children and 30+ full time equivalent employees. The DOE will execute strategic expansion, forecast and be accountable to financial performance, monitor standards of special education, and develop key partnerships. The DOE will envision and execute the clinical and educational direction of the programs as well as promote and ensure IHC treatment philosophies are implemented; ensuring IHC’s strong reputation as demonstrating high standards for quality of care.
The Director will focus on the following areas: program leadership and management, professional growth opportunities for staff, setting high performance expectations and holding staff accountable, creating a balanced therapeutic and educational environment, staff retention, and growing the size of the school. Internally, s/he will provide inspiration, instill loyalty, pride, and passion for working at IHC, and recognize hard work and creativity. Externally, the Director will play a key role in raising visibility, awareness, and influence about IHC through the cultivation of strategic relationships and taking opportunities to communicate both the school and the overall organization’s mission.
