2 in person days at Melmark, New England in Andover: 10:00-2:30 ½ hour lunch (September 6, April 6)
2 virtual trainings 9:00-12:00 ½ hour break (November 10, January 18)
From Peer to Supervisor
The purpose of this module is to define the differences between workers and supervisors, develop strategies for successfully transitioning to supervisor and to understand the competencies and importance of supervisory consultation.
Session I: The Different Roles and Responsibilities of Worker and Supervisor. The purpose of Session I is helping participants develop skills and knowledge to successfully transition from worker to supervisor. Session I will also review the Kadushin Model of Supervision.
Session 2: Supervision Fundamentals. The purpose of Unit 2 is to introduce the participant to the fundamentals of supervision including effective communication, empowerment, and delegation.
Session 3: Supervision Strategies. The purpose of Session 3 is to help participants learn about the importance of establishing boundaries, setting clear expectations and holding others accountable.
Session 4: Supervision Tools. Session 4 will provide an overview of running effective meetings, interviewing, performance appraisals and time management.
