The League School of Greater Boston, Tri-County Schools, Manville School, Cardinal Cushing Centers, Summit Academy, Latham Centers. These schools have all been part of the maaps Back-to-School Action Network Blitz! Have you?

maaps is only as strong as the advocacy of our members and next year we’ll be relying on you even more as we make our case to a new Governor and to new legislative leaders. Can you help us promote the maaps Action Network and encourage your school’s Board of Directors, staff, families and supporters to sign-up to join our grassroots advocacy efforts?

Thanks to Action Network members—who sent over 630 e-mails to state legislators and the Governor during the Fiscal Year 2015 (FY’15) budget debate—maaps was successful in securing $26.5 million in new revenue and tuition rate increases for member schools. It’s now time to build on this momentum and our success.

Joining the maaps Action Network is not only helpful to us—it matters to you. Here’s why:

  • It allows you to weigh-in on special education issues that matter to you, your school and the students and families you serve.
  • It gives you the opportunity to stay up-to-date with maaps’ legislative priorities and all special education initiatives.
  • It can provide you with a greater understanding about how policies up for debate at the State House directly impact you and the work of your profession.
  • It allows you to build personal contacts with your state legislator. Legislators enjoy hearing from the constituents and neighbors on issues important to them. Through the Action Network, you’ll be able to share with them your expertise and build relationships in your community.
